Amit Verma, M.D., was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. After high school, he attended Duke University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Biology and minor in Psychology. Amit then returned home for medical school at the University of Nebraska, where he earned the Regent Scholarship and gained recognition for his development and participation in numerous grade-school education programs.
His interest in children’s health led Dr. Verma to pursue a residency and training in General Pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. He then completed his fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Board certified in pediatric cardiology, Dr. Verma has presented research and abstracts on the national level regarding congenital heart disease. His clinical interest is in general pediatric cardiology, including echocardiography, electrophysiology and preventative medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Texas Medical Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Amit has also enjoyed participating in multiple medical mission trips throughout the Caribbean and Central America.
Amit and his wife Suzanne enjoy traveling and spending time with family, especially their three daughters, and they are active in their church and community.
