Dr. Blalock grew up in Marshall, Texas. She attended the University of Notre Dame and earned a degree in Spanish and Pre-professional studies. She spent her sophomore year in Spain as part of a Notre Dame collaboration with an international school. She finished medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed pediatric residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she earned the award for excellence in critical care. She finished her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at UT Southwestern / Children’s Medical Center Dallas. She then moved to Boston and acquired additional training in echocardiography and cardiac MRI at Harvard University/ Children’s Hospital Boston. After her training she returned to Dallas to lead the pediatric cardiac MRI program and joined the Maternal-Fetal team performing fetal echocardiograms. She is the author of several publications and has spoken at national cardiology meetings. Dr. Blalock is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Blalock moved back to East Texas with her husband and three children. She is welcoming patients in the Tyler, Longview and Lufkin areas. She accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid.
