Tracy H. Laird, M.D., was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. For college she attended the University of California at Davis, where she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and a Magna Cum Laude graduate. She received her M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was the recipient of the AOA Scholarship for Academic Excellence. She was also a founding member of the Tulane chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association. After medical school Tracy moved to Houston for residency training in Pediatrics at Texas Children’s Hospital at Baylor College of Medicine. There she completed two fellowships, one in Pediatric Cardiology and one in pediatric advanced cardiac imaging. While in Houston she also met and married her husband, Penn Laird II, M.D.
Dr. Laird is board certified in pediatric cardiology. She has a special interest in fetal cardiology and echocardiography, has presented research papers at numerous meetings, and has contributed book chapters, abstracts, and articles for a number of publications. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
